The Animals and Art for Education project was started in the summer of 2005. Businesses and individuals from around the state sponsored over 160 “icons”. Artists from around the region were found to paint each piece and they were put on display around the state. In the fall of 2007 the pieces were auctioned off at auctions held in Douglas, Cheyenne, Hulett, Torrington, and Cody. All funds raised from this project went to support the Wyoming FFA and other partnering organizations.
